Matthew Stevens, ‘artisan-fishmonger’ (as accredited by The Daily Telegraph), and third generation of this family owned business, has now been in operation for more than 50 years. Overlooking the beautiful St Ives Bay, Matthew can deliver fresh local fish and seafood to the Sail Lofts on a daily basis.
His team supply the best in sustainable Cornish fish, shellfish and seafood that they source each day from fishing harbours in Mevagissey, Looe, Newlyn and here in St Ives. The choice very much depends on the days catch, but can include monkfish, bass, haddock, cod, lemon sole, John Dory, brill, lobster, scallops and crab. They also have a variety of imported vacuum packed, frozen and smoked fish.
They pride themselves in providing only the freshest fish from the South West with their own bespoke preparation and packing service.
As Sail Lofts guests, we have negotiated trade prices on your behalf, so if you’re planning to eat in it will be hard to get fresher, better value fish elsewhere.
If you’d like to place an order just pop into the office and let us know what you’d like and we’ll do the rest for you.
Harvey Brothers, a traditional family run butchers based on Tregenna in St Ives, can supply a range of top quality meats and delicatessen products to Sail Lofts guests.
Harvey Bros pride themselves on providing locally sourced meat, much of which is reared on their own farm in Pendeen. What can’t be sourced through their family farm will be delivered from other farms in the West Country, not forgetting their own delicatessen range that includes cheeses, olives, pates and free range eggs.
Harvey Brothers can save you some of the hassle of shopping, particularly if you arrive late after travelling, as the onsite concierge team will collect your order so it is ready for when you get to The Sail Lofts.
