A hotspot for many, the beach is quite simply perfect for all the family, whether you're there to enjoy the sun, try out one of the many water-sport activities or simply go for a swim. The blue flag beach right on our doorstep is the perfect place to be on a hot summer's day.
Art is at the forefront of St Ives' history so why not try something new this summer? With art classes at the St Ives School of Painting you can indulge your creative side but if you'd rather enjoy the galleries instead then that's no problem - St Ives has so much for everyone to enjoy. Just on the other coast, outside of Penzance is the small coastal town of Marazion - great for some fish and chips and an ice cream on the beach. When the tide is low you can walk the cobblestone pathway to the island mount with a garden and castle to enjoy and views over Mounts Bay, don't worry if the tide comes in while you're busy exploring as a boat is on hand to escort you back to the mainland at the end of the day.
Local markets are a great way to sample the best that Cornwall has to offer, with local producers on show at the Guildhall every Thursday you can experience some Cornish jam or freshly baked breads, there are plenty of local markets happening throughout the week so if you miss St Ives' Farmer's Market then why not venture to Truro where you can enjoy a larger display of Cornish produce on Lemon Quay.
