The Helford (Discover Cornwall Edition)
Whilst being on holiday in St Ives, there may have been some areas you haven't discovered yet. Located on the south coast, The Helford river has many places to visit and is a fantastic spot to find some quieter locations for your beach day. From The large estuary located between Falmouth and The Lizard has more than 50 km of coastlines and many peaceful creeks filled with amazing wildlife.

Those wonderful gardens located just outside Falmouth offer a variety of subtropical flowers and plants that create a magical place to visit with the sea as a backdrop. Start your visit with a delicious lunch at the Trebah cafe and walk your way through the gardens where the beach will be waiting for you at the end.
If you are looking for somewhere to go to enjoy the sea with the whole family and take your paddleboard out, Maenporth is the perfect location. With a car park directly opposite the beach, it has never been so easy to unload the car and make yourself comfortable on the sand. The cafe on the beach is also the perfect destination for a cold or warm drink and offers a delicious selection of food until they close.
The Helford River is truly a spectacular place to visit and especially the village. Beautiful houses and cottages overlooking the river and if you have the chance to go through the village on the river, the view is worth it. Enjoy your lunch at the Shipwrights Arms and a peaceful view before grabbing the ferry which will take you to the Helford Passage.

This quirky cafe filled with souvenirs and memories from the sea is a Mackerel specialist. From pate to salads, you will find mackerel in all its glory! Crab and smoked salmon is also available on the menu and all the food is fresh and local. This amazing place is truly an experience for your taste buds and
Located just on the outskirts of Constantine, Potager Garden has two greenhouses with the cafe inside and plenty of tables and chairs. Choose from the vegetarian menu some fresh local products (they also grow their own vegetables) and be amazed by the quality of the food not to mention their coffees and cakes.
If you are looking for a more traditional place to have lunch or dinner, The Black Swan is a lovely pub just near Gweek Boatyard. With a spacious restaurant area, a pool table and a beer garden, make the most of sunny afternoons with a fresh drink.
There are plenty to discover in Cornwall when it comes to wonderful places with beautiful scenery and landscapes. Whilst staying in St Ives, take advantage of your allocated parking space only a few minutes away from your apartment and drive to a new location to enjoy the day discovering West Cornwall.
