New year celebrations must come to an end but doesn’t mean you can’t have other great things to look forward to… St Ives offers a variety of unforgettable activities to keep everyone entertained, you will be spoilt for choice! February Half Term is a big breath of fresh air after the long nights of cold January. Here is some fun filled experiences why stepping into spring will make everything feel better when staying in St Ives in our luxury self catering accommodation.

St Ives Surf School.

Here in St Ives, we have outstanding views of amazing local beaches. One of our favourites is Porthmeor beach, creating photogenic views, soft sand and located opposite beautiful Tate St Ives. You can also enjoy a lovely spot of lunch or a hot drink at Porthmeor Beach Café. Porthmeor is popular with surfers all year round and swimmers if you are brave enough to face the ice waters. Porthmeor offers a local Surf School with a team of strong experienced swimmers, fully trained in all areas to keep us safe in the water while having a general passion for ocean. The surf school offer package deals and lessons in surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding or coasteering. This could be your chance to become the next best surfer.

Leach Pottery.

Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach, formed was is one of the most respected and influential potteries in the world. If being creative or getting stuck in is more your forte, Leach Pottery is the place to go, located at The Core building at the Orchard, Penbeagle Lane. They are offering drop-in sessions for all ages, where you can enjoy the depths of being a potter at your own pace. Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

A significant attraction near Penzance is a delightful valley of landscapes and tropical plants, with surrounding greenery area to enjoy a heartfelt picnic or a coffee on a spring crips February, while enjoying incredible backdrops of St Michael’s Mount. Tremenheere is completed with sculpture gardens, shop and a restaurant with alfresco seating. Tremenheere is open all year round and dog friendly.
The gallery plays a big part, with two exhibition spaces spread across two floors and a programme of shows from local and intonational artists. A nice balance of incredible artwork, which can be brought in the gallery. It’s a truly magnificent garden and definitely worth a visit.

Eden Project.

A bit further from home, we welcome an outstanding place we call Eden Project, an idyllic and forever breath-taking world. The global garden really does set the stage for a fantastic day out. There’s so much to do, including exploring the massive Biomes to discover indoor rainforests and calming scents of the Mediterranean Biome, discover places to eat and drink and take in the beautiful surroundings. In the winter months they transform one of the Biomes into a icy paradise, with an ice rink and a hot chocolate hut to quench the thirst and keep the cold away.
There are so many different activities to do to keep you occupied like exploring the invisible worlds exhibition, guided tours to hear about the incredible stories of the plants and gardens, and if you are super daring, there’s a zip wire adventure to delve into, it’s a pretty good view. more information on the Eden Project website.
