Coastal Walks from St Ives 

Cornwall’s Coastal Paths offer an alternative way of exploring the more rural parts of the county and you’ll be rewarded for venturing off the beaten track with some breath taking views. Whether you're partial to a scenic stroll or are a fully-fledged hiker; there is definitely a coastal path out there for you and a couple of our favourite routes lie just minutes from your luxury cottage in St Ives.

St Ives to Zennor

If you have time to make a day of it, we very much recommend walking the path from St Ives to Zennor – at approximately 6 miles this is a fairly vigorous walk, although if you take it relatively easy, it’s very manageable for most. This Coast Path can be picked up on the West side of Porthmeor beach, just a short walk from your luxury cottage. When you reach Zennor, we promise all will have been worthwhile when you step into the village pub! The Tinner’s Arms is a traditional pub with a glorious beer garden and a cosy bar where you can quench your thirst and enjoy a well deserved lunch before heading back to St Ives via bus or taxi.

St Ives to Carbis Bay

St Ives to Carbis Bay is an easier going walk suitable for a free morning or afternoon and at just 2 miles, you can easily make it a round trip. This path can be picked up just above Porthminster Beach’s Kitchen Garden and the view from the path offers absolutely stunning - not to mention tropical looking - views across St Ives Bay and beyond. As you’ll be passing, why not start with a good breakfast and plenty of coffee on Porthminster Cafe’s dog friendly terrace?

The Halsetown Inn - Halsetown, St Ives

"Relaxed country pub with great food and local ales". Located just outside of St Ives, The Halsetown Inn can be reached via an easy and picturesque walk through the countryside surrounded by rolling hills and ponies. Comprised of dining rooms, a cosy bar with open fire and a beer garden, the menu focuses on being local and sustainable, boasting the kind of delicious and gratifying food you'd hope to find in a pub whilst being inventive and refined. Should walking not be on the cards, it's a simple ten minute drive out of town with ample parking and plenty of space to let the dogs run free before or after dinner.

Porthmeor Cafe

Situated between Man’s Head and the Island, there’s plenty of scope for your pooch to run off some steam before making for Porthmeor Cafe. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tapas, drinks and cream teas all day, everyone is catered for. Your four legged friends are more than welcome to join you on the fully covered, heated terrace as you watch the world go by.

The Hub - St Ives

Make a beeline for the hub if you’re looking for great coffee, cakes and American style fayre. Nestled on the Wharf around 10 minutes from your luxury cottage in St Ives, you can give your four-legged friend a run around on dog friendly Bamaluz beach on the way. The Hub's laid-back atmosphere encourages lazy hours spent looking out to sea accompanied by coffee and cake, lunch or even a few tipples!

The Tinner's Arms - Zennor

As mentioned above, the Tinner’s is the ultimate destination for walkers and their four legged companions. Boasting a traditional cosy bar, beer garden and a family dining room, the menu boasts locally sourced produce such as fresh crab from Newlyn, mackerel from Mount’s Bay, 28-day-hung steak from herds reared on local pastures and local favourite: Moomaid of Zennor ice-cream. Come rain or shine, whether you’re treating yourself to a post-walk feast or enjoying a more leisurely Sunday roast with family, the Tinner’s is an all round winner.
