Dog Restrictions on Beaches in St Ives
Throughout St Ives the town operates a restriction on dogs across many of its beaches. What this means is that the mornings (before 10am) and the evenings (after 6pm) are the time to enjoy the sands of St Ives throughout the summer. There are also many hidden gems which are dog friendly at all times throughout the year.
Dog Restrictions in St Ives
Dog bans will be in force on many beaches between 10am and 6pm between July 1 and August 31. So, whilst daytime fun is out of the question, early morning strolls and evening frolics are possible. Beaches in St Ives in this bracket include Porthgwidden and the Harbour. Only on Cornwall's Blue Flag beaches, including Porthmeor Beach, Porthminster Beach and Carbis Bay Beach, will the restrictions span a little longer, whereby the ban will be in place from 15 May to 30 September between 10am and 6pm.
In St Ives, Bamaluz beach, Pier beach and Lambeth walk are all dog friendly throughout the year and further afield you have the Mexico Towans and Porthkidney Sands which are dog friendly all year-round and are both just a short drive from St Ives.
