2023 Holidays in St Ives, Cornwall
Dreaming of white sand, warm summer air and balmy evenings overlooking the sea? Secure your 2023 holiday in St Ives and make your daydreams a reality. It may feel a little way off, but we have lots to look forward to all year round to make the most of 2023.
Starting the year as we mean to go on
St Ives is famed for its New Year's Eve celebrations. Although nothing has been confirmed for this New Year’s Eve, we cannot wait to celebrate with friends and loved ones, whether that’s on the beach or in one of St Ives’ amazing restaurants, we know it’ll be in style.
Winter wave watching from cosy cafes
As the winter rolls in, there is nothing like heading out on windy walks to watch the crashing waves. Then afterwards taking the obligatory pit-stop for coffee and cake in a cosy café on the beach watching the surf. Booking a 2023 holiday in St Ives during the off-season provides many an opportunity to explore both Cornwall's astonishing natural beauty and its many superb cafes and restaurants, without the hustle and bustle that inevitably comes with the holidays.
Gardens in Cornwall in springtime
As well as its famed sea and sand, Cornwall is also home to an unexpectedly exotic array of flowers, succulents and sub-tropical plants thanks to our unique, Mediterranean-esque micro climate and there's no better time to experience the splendour of our gardens than a spring holiday in St Ives. Steeped in history, the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a favourite of ours and are as intriguing as they are impressive - growing a pineapple in the UK is no mean feat! Right on doorstep of your holiday cottage in St Ives, the iconic Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden is an absolute must, as is the Tremenheere Sculpture Garden just a short drive away in Penzance.
Alfresco wining and dining
When the weather is on our side, Summer holidays in St Ives are truly what dreams are made of. After a day already spent on the beach, there is simply nothing like settling in for an evening of cocktails, good food and wine whilst you watch the sun sink into the water and there is nowhere in St Ives to rival Porthmeor Beach Cafe on this front, we recommend booking in advance, as it is very popular! Porthgwidden and Porthminster also boast wonderful restaurants and if we could spend a week dining among just these three we would have no complaints. For a morning well spent why not head over to Porthminster Cafe for breakfast before taking in the spectacular views from the coastal path to Carbis Bay?
Late summer sunshine in September and October
A holiday in St Ives during September and even October often boasts glorious sunny days and a more relaxed atmosphere too. The evenings, starting to draw in, are perfect for catching those coveted St Ives sunsets and it's far easier to make reservations for restaurants too. You also have the bonus of the annual September Festival which spans two weeks and sees St Ives' play host to a plethora of artists and bands in all venues across the town, whilst various performers take to the streets.
