Cycle the Cornish Coast
Summer's on the horizon which means one thing - it's time to get outdoors and explore. The best part of being in the heart of Cornwall is how much there is to see and do around this wonderful part of the English coastline. With so many routes around the county it's quite hard to pinpoint the best place to start your journey, The Cornish Way is a bike route navigating a vast 200 mile stretch across the length of the countryside, of course this is quite the task so rather than peddle the expanse of Cornwall you can break it up to a more bite sized section, keeping things close to the Penwith area with The First and Last Trail.
The First and Last Trail winds down the countryside towards Land's End from nearby town of Hayle. It's a wonderful route if you're looking to discover the other side of the coast toward Penzance and Newlyn before moving on to the start, or end of England's coastline.
Heading out of St Ives on the southern coastal road leads you down the famed 'Tin Coast', this route's a little more for those comfortable with riding on the open road but it's simply perfect to soak in the inspirational sights of the Atlantic as you wind across twisting and turning roads passing by the odd mineshaft or collection of farming homes. The route is simply one of the easiest to access from St Ives, simply make your way to the B3306 and let the road guide your way.
