With the start of the year here there is so much that we have to look forward to in the coming twelve months. Porthmeor is directly out the door, just down the slipway and on to the open expanse, or make your way to the perfectly nestled Porthgwidden and enjoy the quaintness of a beach protected from the waves of the Atlantic.

If you're feeling a little adventurous head down (or up) the coast and discover why the scenic nature of Cornwall pulls people back year upon year, travel to Zennor or the other direction across to the dunes at Gwithian before making your way to the edges of the ocean overlooking the famed Godrevy Lighthouse.

The best part, all of these options along the coast are year-round activities. All you would need to do is put your shoes on and step out to explore.

St Ives September Festival 2018

Last year, the St Ives September Festival was one of the outstanding events to take place in the town, and we would only expect the same for this year. Artists, poets, musicians and scribes come to St Ives to celebrate the arts in all of their weird and wonderful forms. With a backdrop of late summer St Ives has never been more wonderful to enjoy, the high heat of the season has dropped away a little, leaving wonderfully relaxing lazy afternoons in the bustling streets. Tate, St Ives

It's gone through months of development but at the end of last year it was finally complete. Tate, St Ives has gone through a complete refurbishment and expansion creating new exhibitions along the way. The year we've got some exciting things to look forward to; Virginia Woolf: An Exhibition Inspired by Her Works runs through February into April. Not only this, the gallery is running a exhibition of the St Ives artists who helped make the town Cornwall's hotspot for the arts.
