Visiting Cornwall
You are thinking of visiting Cornwall, but wondering where would you stay, what should you bring and where are you going to visit. In a county as varied in landscape as it is in culture. Part of the fun is sometimes turning up and discovering along the way, however, if you are a planner, then you will want some parts of your time spent away on holiday mapped out, to ensure you make the most of where you are visiting.

If you are looking for places to entertain young ones, other than the obvious day at the beach, why not catch the boat over to the island in the sea, St Michael’s Mount. Steeped in medieval history, with tales of giants, there is no greater place to set a young mind alight than this magical offshore castle. Explore the gardens, and discover myths and legends that pulse through the bedrock, and understand island life for the day.
For adults looking for an entertaining day out why not try wild food foraging with the Fat Hen, with a range of courses running throughout the year there is something for everyone, with forage, cook and feast days, to wild food cycling, crab on the beach, to game cookery. With the opportunity to experience Cornwall’s natural bounty first hand, there is no better way of understanding Cornish roots…(please forgive the pun).
What to wear in Cornwall
In comparison to the rest of the United Kingdom, Cornwall experiences very mild temperatures throughout the year, and even days in the midst of January can be balmy, and have you feeling over dressed. Remember layers are your friend and as you get out exploring you shall find that your woolly jumper is holding you back, and that bulky coats are just unnecessary, a light weight waterproof should always be your go to, that keeps you dry, but not roasting.
